Trusting Him in the Darkness

God love us Trusting Him in the Darkness Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. - Psalm 143:8 Sometimes when we reach the lowest points in our lives we feel there is no where else to turn.  In the darkness of hard times it is a good thing to have no where else to look but up.  I believe that God orchestrates many of life challenges to be this way.   He divinely allows every moment in our lives--that which is good, and also that which is bad, to refine us.   The refiners fire is fit for all of us and though painful at times, in the end it is a blessing to endure. Can I share with you that in our early years that God used our marriage to bring me to my knees? Did you know that God can tear down a weak foundation and build it strong for His glory? But first the "tearing down" process must happen before the new can begin. He used two s

Salvation Through Christ: A Matter of FAITH

Salvation Through Christ:  A Matter of FAITH reprinted from  www.lifeway.com God's Plan What do you think it takes for someone to get to heaven?  Is it luck? Good deeds? Nothing at all? Or is there something more? The Bible has the real answer to this question. It's a matter of FAITH. F  stands for FORGIVENESS.  We cannot have eternal life without God's forgiveness. Ephesians 1:7a says, "In Him (Jesus Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins." A  is for AVAILABLE.  Forgiveness is available for all. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." But forgiveness is not automatic. "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven," says Matthew 7:21a. I  is for IMPOSSIBLE.  It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven because of who He is and because of who we a

Four Ways to live within your Limitations

1. It’s okay to work at a less frenzied pace—and even take breaks! I used to work straight through my eight-hour workday. I’d even take my laptop into the bathroom stall with me. I’m not kidding. Lunch would be inhaled at my computer. I worked at mach speed. Who knows, my coworkers may have even witnessed smoke coming out my ears! Now, though, I’m joining the sane lunch group in the cafeteria. I’m getting up from my computer every hour or so for a game of Ping-Pong, a short walk, or a change of scenery. Breaks are important. In fact, Jesus had to tell His disciples to take breaks, too: “And he said to them, 'Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.’ For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat” (Mark 6:31). 2. Everything doesn’t have to be done NOW. Last week I picked up a prescription, dropped off my energy bill, and got my tire patched. I didn’t, however, make my Walmart returns, cash that check, or grocery shop (there
